Meant for Her Book Review

I was immediately drawn in to this story from the very first sentence. Sierra comes across as sexy, feisty, and confident in her own “skin” and is a character you can connect with.  I am a sucker for strong and silent types and  Evan fits that bill to a T.  He is more than you see on the surface but I LOVE how Sierra penetrates those walls he has built around himself from the very first moment they meet. Even before they know each other’s name she has breached the inner “sanctum” of his heart.
I think Evan show have conceded to battle of his heart early on but that is what makes this story so fantastic. Sierra is this quiet presence wearing him down by doing little things like letting herself in his apartment and decorating or buying food. She knows when to push and when to pause, which let’s face it ladies, we don’t always know how to do.
In return, I love the dynamic of Evan’s effect on Sierra. She learns to truly listen to Evan rather than react to his words especially about the dog sitter. I think she believes Evan is being negative and unsupportive and she learns his opposition and insight into the sitters character was valid. I really like,  how Evan appreciates the upbringing Sierra and sister received from her two moms. I think this shows in how patient Sierra is with Evan as she waits for him to realize his feelings for her. I think this works both ways
A mark of a true romance book or movie is the “grand gesture”. It is that moment when your heart jumps into your throat your breath hitches and tears well up in your eyes. I think that moment for me comes at the party when she gets the generous donation of her paintings without Evan being there.

The ending was bittersweet for me because it’s very rare that authors write more than one book with the same characters. I would love to see Evan and Sierra interact with Everly and Cole’s baby especially Evan. I think he might be one of those “I’ll break it types!” I want to see Sierra get pregnant and see how Evan handles that!  I mean bittersweet in the sense that  I felt I had just “met” the characters and I was already having to say goodbye again. I love the cottage where they show their love for each other  and  learn so much more about each other in the process. I like the idea that they keep the cottage and no matter what house they live in, when Evan met Sierra, he not only finds out He is Meant for Her but that he has finally has a home!
If you find someone that is Meant for you,  I would encourage you to take a “leaf” out of Evan’s book and remember that surrender isn’t always about losing something it’s about finding what you never realized you needed or didn’t think you were deserving of in that person. Sometimes our pride and o beliefs blind us to the treasure right in front of us.
